Dover, England (NOT)

Dover, England, with its castle and white cliffs

Today’s port was Dover, England. To read about our previous years’ visits, click here.

This is our third stop here in three years, and this time we didn’t even leave the ship. We are disembarking in less than two days, and we still have a lot of work to do. We will be touring the UK on our own for two weeks, and there many logistics we still have to work out. (Plus, the schedule keeps changing.)

We had to pack everything up to move out of our stateroom. We are able to store several suitcases aboard ship, but this also meant we had to sort everything out between what’s staying and what’s going.

On top of everything else, Russell is scheduled to present scenic commentary tomorrow morning beginning at 5:30 am. This means an early evening tonight. We are accelerating toward the end of the world cruise in more ways than one!

Our visit to Dover this year was limited to a view from the ship

We did get to see a spectacular sunset from the World Café as we sailed away during dinner!

We continue to spend time with the guest entertainers. Javier Jarquin, whom we’ve sailed with before, does one of our very favorite acts as the “Card Ninja”
