Once a month (give or take), no matter where we found ourselves, we would stop and take a moment to marvel again at what we were doing. Taking a break from our normal travelogues, we would write instead about how we had changed. The original idea was to alternate the writing of these letters between Gail and Russell, but like everything else that plan became "flexible."
